PostgreSQL
database required
Because BasicBooks is a "front end" user interface to the PostgreSQL
database system you must have PostgreSQL installed and running before
you can use BasicBooks. PostgreSQL is free and available with
all Linux distributions. If it is not already installed on
your system contact your system administrator or Linux supplier.
The Postgres Manual and documentation with your Linux system will
tell you how to set up and start Postgres. BasicBooks will
create its own database the first time it is run as long as Postgres
is properly installed.
